There are many waterfalls in every Australian state, although the most spectacular drops are along the eastern seaboard – the Blue Mountains (NSW), Waterfall Way near Dorrigo (NSW), Lamington National Park (QLD) and Cairns region (QLD) are some of the best places to go chasing easily-accessible waterfalls.

The Carroll Creek Falls is a small but picturesque waterfall and swimming hole along Carroll Creek, in Garigal National Park.

The first named waterfall along the West Canungra Creek Circuit, Darraboola Falls is picturesque - but not particularly impressive. It's often confused with the more spectacular Bundoomba Falls.

Girrakool Waterfall in Brisbane Water National Park (near Gosford) is a beautiful waterfall, which drops into a natural pool surrounded by bush.
