There are many waterfalls in every Australian state, although the most spectacular drops are along the eastern seaboard – the Blue Mountains (NSW), Waterfall Way near Dorrigo (NSW), Lamington National Park (QLD) and Cairns region (QLD) are some of the best places to go chasing easily-accessible waterfalls.

A hidden pool and waterfall below Manly Dam, Mermaid Pool was named after the girls who would go skinny dipping here in the evenings during the Great Depression.

A pleasant and short walk to a less-visited waterfall. Minnatonka Falls is picturesque, but not very impressive unless there's been very heavy rain.

A beautiful waterfall which drops into an idyllic pool, surrounded by rainforest-like vegetation. While Numantia Falls is most spectacular after rain, the falls & swimming hole are always photogenic!

Rainbow Falls (Gudda Gumoo) is a spectacular and deep waterhole in Blackdown Tableland National Park, which is below a 40m tall waterfall. The waterhole and falls is reached by a 4.8km return walk.

Tanninaba Falls (which is a neighbor of Purling Brook Falls) is waterfall in Springbrook National Park. It is often dry, unless there has been some heavy rain.

Woolshed Falls cascades 15m over a series of granite ledges in the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park. The waterfall was also significant in Victoria's goldrush history.
