The easiest-to-reach trig stations are in and around Newcastle, where some of them are in bushland reserves and suburban areas.
Many other trig stations are scattered across sometimes rugged and remote peaks of Yengo National Park and the Watagan mountains.
A trig point with a great view, Careys Peak Trig Station is on the top of Careys Peak in Barrington Tops. There are a couple of bushwalking routes you can take to reach the trig station and lookout.
