There are hundreds of trig stations across Sydney’s north and north-west, from remote parts of national parks to suburban locations. You might be surprised to find a trig point hidden away in your suburb! Some of the best-preserved trig stations are easily reached near residential developments.

The Lix Trig in Ingleside is in fairly good condition, with base, mast and vanes intact. The trig station is reached via a short "bush bash".

Located in Muogamarra Nature Reserve, Lloyd Trig is reached via the Lloyd Trig Track. There are extensive views from the trig point.

The Long trig station is visible from the Long Trail, about 900m before the end of the track.

McCarr Trig is reached by a short scramble up from West Head Road, past oast some rock formations. The trig point is partly destroyed.

Accessible from the Chiltern Trail or from Chiltern Road, a short climb gets you to the McCowen Trig Station. There's some filtered views from the trig station.

Over ten metres in height, the Obelisk Trig at North Head was constructed around 1809 as a navigational aid for ships.

Just the concrete base remains from the Pittwater trig station, which is hidden in the bush a short distance from the base of a couple of radio towers.

The Pogson Trig is a solid but rather uninspiring concrete plinth, near the junction of the Pogson Trig Trail and the Quarry Firetrail.

Only the concrete base of the Quarantine trig station remains, just behind the Close Defence Observation Post at North Head.

There's almost northing left of the Roach Trig, which is is one of the highest trig points in Ku-ring-gai Chase NP.
