There are hundreds of trig stations across Sydney’s north and north-west, from remote parts of national parks to suburban locations. You might be surprised to find a trig point hidden away in your suburb! Some of the best-preserved trig stations are easily reached near residential developments.

A less-visited trig station in the northern beaches near Bungan Head, Bushranger Trig is on a small rock platform and offers great ocean views.

The Campbell Trig, located just off the Old Northern Road in Glenorie, is still in good condition and easily reached.

Just the concrete plinth remains of this trig station, which is only a few metres off the Carrol Trig Firetrail.

Castlecrag Trig is a metal plug and arrow carved in sandstone, on top of a rock outcrop in Castlecrag.

Coba Trig in Marramarra National Park is reached via a route that's partly on a firetrail, and partly off-track. Only the stone cairn remains.

A relatively easy-to-reach trig station, Cole Trig is on a ridge accessible from Cowan Station. An informal trail continues past Edward Trig to Taffys Rock.

A very easy-to-reach trig, Cook Trig Station is located in North Wahroonga. A plaque on the concete plinth details the history of the trig.

A short “bush bash” from the Cowan Track to the Cowan Trig Station, which is still in good condition but well-hidden in the scrub.

Cromer Heights trig station in Red Hill Reserve offers sweeping views over the bushland and to the ocean in the distance.

Located between North Curl Curl and Dee Why beaches, the Dee Why trig was one of the first trigonometric stations constructed in Sydney's north. There are some great views from the trig.

Denny Trig is a traditional stone cairn trig, with mast and vane almost completely destroyed. A very short detour on the bushwalk to Coba Point.
