Two picturesque waterfalls are in close proximity along West Canungra Creek: the signposted Goondaree Falls, and a little upstream the Wongaree Falls. The waterfall drops over a couple of tiers into a pool at the base, which is surrounded by lush rainforest.

The falls can also be seen from above, which also provides a view of the pool at the base.

The shape of the falls hasn’t changed much since it was photographed in the very early 1900s (1909-1915, John Oxley Library, State Library of Queensland).

Getting to Goondaree Falls
This waterfall is along the 18km West Canungra Creek Circuit, which starts along the Border Track from the O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat carpark at the end of Lamington National Park Road. The waterfall is around 5.8km from the Border Track and 8km frrom the Green Mountains trailhead (going in an anti-clockwise direction).
