Ships Stern Circuit – a scenic loop with views and waterfalls
The Ships Stern Circuit in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park offers a great mix of lookouts and waterfalls, and a variety of flora from rainforest to eucalypt forest.
This includes Brisbane (the state’s capital city), the Gold Coast to the south (home to world-renowned beaches and hinterland beauty) and the Scenic Rim (a spectacular region of mountains, national parks and fertile valleys)

A half-day loop walk in Lamington National Park, which combines the popular Border Track with the less-known Moonlight Crag and Balancing Rock track. Soem great views and many nice sections of rainforest.
Following the NSW/QLD border fence, the hike to the top of Mount Cougal East in the Gold Coast hinterland offers great views – on a clear day! It’s relatively easy, with just a short, steep scramble at the end.
The historic Cream Track links the Springbrook Plateau to the upper Tallebudgera Valley. A steep track that is mostly through tall rainforest, it’s best done from the bottom.

The Warrie Circuit in Springbrook National Park drops from the top of the escarpment to Meeting of the Waters at the bottom of of the valley. It passes eight waterfalls and some great views to the east all the way to the Gold Coast skyline.
This 8km loop through the Mt Coot-tha Reserve combines fire trails and bushwalking trails. It passes West Ithaca Creek and East Ithaca Creek, and both of the waterfalls in the reserve.
A loop bushwalk through subtropical rainforest, this bushwalk in D’Aguilar National Park combines the Western Window track and Westside track. It’s a secluded and surprisingly pleasant bushwalk.
A fairly popular bushwalk in the D’Aguilar National Park, the Greenes Falls Track descends through rainforest to a platform overlooking Greenes Falls. It’s an easy and pleasant walk, but don’t expect a spectacular waterfall.
The Morelia Walking Track in the D’Aguilar National Park provides a nice view from the Mount Nebo Lookout, It’s an easy, family-friendly bushwalk you can do in under two hours.
