Summary: Charraboomba Rock, located on the Ships Stern Circuit in Lamington National Park, offers extensive views of the Numinbah Valley and Nixon Valley.

One of the more remote lookouts along the Ships Stern Circuit in Lamington National Park, Charraboomba Rock offers views to the north down the Numinbah Valley, with the distinctive Egg Rock in the middle…

…and south into the Nixon Valley, including the Ballunjui Falls.

There are multiple vantage points along the increasingly narrow ridge – Charraboomba means “Island (Rock)” in the Yugambeh language, which is an appropriate name!

Getting to Charraboomba Rock

A signposted trail off the Ships Stern Circuit climbs up to the rocky spur.

A rough trail continues all the way to the end where the rock ends with a steep drop; there are multiple vantage points along the ridge where you can stop, all offering similar perspectives.

The Ship’s Stern Circuit in Binna Burra starts opposite the Lamington National Park Information Centre, near the end of Binna Burra Road.
