Summary: Accessed by the multi-day Thorsborne Trail or by boat, Zoe Falls is a picturesque cascade and swimming hole on Hinchinbrook Island.

About a kilometre upstream of the beach and lagoon at Zoe Bay on Hinchinbrook Island is Zoe Falls. South Zoe Creek cascades over rock into a beautiful tropical pool, surrounded by trees.

There are some more (shallower) pools at the top of the waterfall, with Zoe Bay in the background.

Getting to Zoe Falls

The renowned and popular Thorsborne Trail passes Zoe Falls (bookings essential and numbers are restricted) – this is a 3-4 day / 32km hike along Hinchinbrook Island.

You can also reach Zoe Bay by boat – either by private vessel or a boat transfer from Lucinda or Cardwell. There is a campsite at Zoe Bay, which is about a 10min walk from the falls. (See Queensland Parks South Zoe Bay camping area for more information on campsite fees and how to book.)
