One of the most impressive waterfalls in the Gold Coast hinterland – especially after heavy rain – Twin Falls drops about 40m into a deep pool. The waterfall has two separate drops, giving the waterfall its name, although in drier periods there may be only a single drop.
The walking track goes behind the waterfall before reaching a concrete bridge that crosses back to the opposite side of the creek, below the pool.
You can swim in the pool below the falls – although the official guidance is not to swim in any of the creeks within the natonal park to protect the wildlife and pristine aquatic ecosystems.
Getting to Twin Falls
The bottom of the waterfall is reached by the Twin Falls Circuit, a relatively easy walk that follows the top of the escarpment, before dropping down below the cliff walls. From the Tallanbana Picnic Area the trail descends through a few slots in the rock before reaching the pool.

Alternatively, you can start at the Canyon Lookout, following the top of the escarpment (which has some great views) before descending to the bottom of the cliffs. On the way you’ll pass Blackfellows Falls.

The Twin Falls Circuit is 4.2km; if you just want to visit the falls it’s about 2km return from the Tallanbana Picnic Area. (The longer Warrie Circuit also passes the waterfall.)
Both the trailheads (Canyon Lookout and Tallanbana Picnic Area) are along Springbrook Road, which is about a 90min drive from Brisbane via the Nerang–Murwillumbah Road (State Route 97) and Springbook Road (State Road 99).
