Summary: Poonyahra Falls is a picturesque waterfall along the Warrie Circuit in Springbrook National Park.

The third (of four) waterfalls along Warrie Circuit trail as it descends the valley along Nerang Creek East Branch in Springbook National Park, Poonyahra Falls is a picturesque waterfall. It looks more spectacular after heavy rain, but the creek is rarely completely dry.

The waterfall has an indigenous name after the traditional custodians of the land – poonyahra means “beautiful”.

Getting to Poonyahra Falls

Poondahra Falls is about 3km from Canyon Lookout, or 1.5km from the start of the Warrie Circuit. It’s signposted with a short side-trail off the main track. The Warrie Circuit starts from either Canyon Lookout or the Tallanbana Picnic Area which are along Springbrook Road, about a 90min drive from Brisbane via the Nerang–Murwillumbah Road (State Route 97) and Springbook Road (State Road 99).
