Summary: Ngarigoon Falls, named after the Yugambeh word for "playfulness," is a scenic waterfall in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park.

Named after the Yugambeh (the traditional Custodians of land in south-east Queensland and north-east NSW) word for “playfulness”, Ngarigoon Falls is a picturesque waterfall in Lamington National Park along Nixon Creek.

While Ngarigoon Falls only has a small drop, it’s located in a grotto-like setting and surrounded by towering rainforest trees, making it my favourite waterfall of the Ship’s Stern Circuit walk.

Getting to Ngarigoon Falls via the Upper Ballunjui Track

The waterfall can be reached as a side-trip off the 19km Ships Stern Circuit, or as a shorter “out and back” bushwalk via the Border Track and Daves Creek Circuit track.

The Border Track starts opposite the Binna Burra Tea House in Lamington National Park (near the end of Binna Burra Road) and connects to the Daves Creek Circuit track.
