It’s difficult to get a good view of the full height of Hat Hill Falls, which is most frequently visited via Hat Hill Canyon. The waterfall is formed by Hat Hill Creek plunging off the cliff into the Grose Valley.

Hat Hill Falls is similar to Fortress Creek Falls, but not as photogenic, with the creek forming several rockpools at the top of the cliff. Swimming in these pools is not recommended as the water is fairly fast flowing, but there are many more (safe) pools upstream.
The waterfall is just visible from Baltzer Lookout and is almost directly opposite Rigby Hill, but neither of these vantage points offers great view of this remote waterfall. The best view is from the steep and off-track ascent from the Grose Valley along Hat Hill Creek and up Lews Pass, where you can see the waterfall through the trees.
Getting to Hat Hill Falls
The waterfall itself is not really a destination in its own right, unless you are an ardent chaser of waterfalls. But if you follow Hat Hill Creek through multiple canyons, you’ll end up at the top of these falls. Access to Hat Hill Creek is from Godson Avenue in Blackheath (you can also enter via the exit track which is off Bald Head Ridge to access the last section of Hat Hill Creek).
