Summary: A beautiful and remote waterfall that cascades into a deep pool, Gooroolba Falls is surrounded by rainforest. It's reached via the Warrie Circuit in Springbrook National Park.

Situated deep into the valley near the middle of the Warrie Circuit, Gooroolba Falls is the fourth and last waterfall along Nerang Creek East Branch in Springbook National Park.

Although one of the smaller waterfalls along the circuit, Gooroolba Falls one of the most picturesque. It has a higher flow than the three upstream waterfalls, being below the convergence of two creeks that flow off the escarpment.

The creek cascades into a small but deep pool, which probably gives the waterfall its name – gooroolba is the Aboriginal word for “deep”. It would be a nice spot for a swim on a hot day – although swimming is discouraged in all of the creeks in Springbrook National Park to protect the marine life and aquatic ecosystems.

Getting to Gooroolba Falls

Gooroolba Falls is about 6km from Canyon Lookout, or 4.7km from the start of the Warrie Circuit which passes the top of the falls. An easy scramble takes you down to the pool. The Warrie Circuit starts from either Canyon Lookout or the Tallanbana Picnic Area which are along Springbrook Road, about a 90min drive from Brisbane via the Nerang–Murwillumbah Road (State Route 97) and Springbook Road (State Road 99).
