The Goomoolahra Falls along the Warrie Circuit in Springbrook National Park consists of two drops – the main waterfall is a short distance above the track, and can only be seen when there has been some heavy rain. A smaller cascade is just above the track.
Ironically, goomoolahra is the Aboriginal word for “big waterfall” – and it is a much more impressive waterfall after rain, as this video from Lisa Frost shows!
Below the track – you can’t see it – is Kadjagooma Falls. The walking track crosses the creek below the waterfall via a narrow concrete bridge.
Getting to Goomoolahra Falls
Ngarri-dhum Falls is about 2km from the Tallanbana Picnic Area, or 1.2km from the start of the Warrie Circuit which passes the bottom of the falls. The Warrie Circuit starts from either Canyon Lookout or the Tallanbana Picnic Area which are along Springbrook Road, about a 90min drive from Brisbane via the Nerang–Murwillumbah Road (State Route 97) and Springbook Road (State Road 99).
