Summary: Warringa Pool is a beautiful swimming hole along Little Nerang Creek in Springbrook National Park, which is reached by a 7km (return) bushwalk.

One of the few spots in Springbrook National Park where swimming is allowed (it’s discouraged in all of the creeks to protect the fragile marine ecosystem), Warringa Pool is a beautiful natural pool and swimming hole surrounded by rainforest. The Aboriginal word warringa means “cool place”.

At the top of the deep pool is a small cascade, and a short scramble to the bottom end of the pool provides the easiest access to the water.

Above Warringa Pool is very picturesque section of Little Nerang Creek – you can continue a short distance up the creek.

Getting to Warringa Pool

Warringa Pool is reached a 2km return trail from the base of Purling Brook Falls in Springbrook National Park, with the entire Purling Brook Falls Circuit and Warringa Pool bushwalk being about 7km. It’s best visited after decent rain when the creek is flowing well.

Springbrook National Park is situated on the McPherson Range, 100 kilometres south of Brisbane, and about a 90-minute drive from Brisbane via the Nerang–Murwillumbah Road (State Route 97) and Springbook Road (State Road 99). The Purling Brook Falls Circuit starting point is from the Gwongorella Picnic Ground, which is at the end of Forestry Road, off Springbrook Road.
