Just above the shoreline on Cowan Creek, opposite Waratah Creek and the old Windybanks boat shed, is a rock with a Aboriginal rock art. The site has a number of male figures engraved vertically.

Some of the figures are hard to make out, while one man with a sinngle arm and two deeply cut eyes is very distinct.

Aboriginal Sites by National Park

Aboriginal Rock Art – Maroota and Marramarra NP
Located to the north-west of Sydney, just south of the Dharug and Yengo National Parks, Maroota has a high concentration of (known) Aboriginal sites. Many more Aboriginal heritage sites are located in the Marramarra National Park. The original inhabitants of the area were the Darug people.
