This waterfall near along the Kemensah trail in Kemensah, Setapak has many names. It’s known as Kubang Gajah Waterfall, which translates to “Elephant Waterhole”, as it was said to be where elephants used in construction were taken to cool off) as well as Sungai Ampang Waterfall and Kemensah Waterfall. The more recent name Sofea Jane Waterfall comes from the local actress Sofea Jane, who went for a swim at the waterfall in a scene in the movie Perempuan, Isteri dan Jalang (Woman, Wife and Slut/Bitch). The water cascades over a wide rock platform; there isn’t a swimming hole here, but there are some natural water holes a bit further downstream.

Getting to Sofea Jane Waterfall (Jeram Kubang Gajah)
The waterfall can be reached via a rough trail starting at the ATV Adventure Park in Kampung Kemensah on foot, or by taking an ATV tour (it’s one of two waterfalls you can reach via ATV, the other being Batu Asah Waterfall). As the route is shared with ATVs, it’s fairly muddy and not the most appealing hiking trail. There are some signs along the way, which point to “Air Terjun Kubang Gajah”.

I have also seen reports of a separate hiking trail that starts from the road, about 200m uphill from the entrance to the ATV Park.
