Summary: Pencil Pine Falls is a small waterfall along Pencil Pine Creek, a short walk from the Cradle Mountain Lodge.

Situated on Pencil Pine Creek, the Pencil Pines Falls are a short walk from Cradle Mountain Lodge. The creek falls about 10m over a wide ledge into a deep pool – and a swimming hole for those prepared to brave the very cold water. (If the water flow is low, the water can fall as two or three segmented flows.)

Getting to Pencil Pine Falls

The walking trail to Pencil Pine Falls starts near Cradle Mountain Lodge, just after the Cradle Mountain Interpretation Centre on Cradle Mountain Road (about a two hour drive from Launceston). The Dove Canyon Track is a boardwalk that goes past the Pencil Pine Cascades, before reaching the Pencil Pine Waterfall. The Dove Canyon Track then continues past Knyvet Falls and does a longer loop back to the Cradle Mountain Ranger Station.
