Summary: A small but picturesque waterfall along Fairy Falls Creek, Fairy Creek Falls is about eight metres high and reached by a 15min walk.

One of two Fairy Falls in the Blue Mountains, Fairy Falls in Lawson is formed by Fairy Falls Creek dropping over a couple of wide ledges. It was originally called Cecilia Falls, and the waterfall directly below it was called Sebastian Falls.

You can easily walk behind the waterfall, which is surrounded by ferns.

The waterfall is guarded by water dragons, who enjoy the sun-drenched rocks in front of the falls.

Getting to Fairy Falls

The short walk to the waterfall starts from North Lawson Park, and is only 0.6km return – or you can do a 4km loop which passes two more waterfalls. You can also stop at Fairy Falls along the longer Empire Pass Loop. North Lawson Park is 1.3km walk or drive from Lawson station.
