Summary: A small waterfall along Hazelbrook Creek, Fairy Falls drops over a ledge and then flows down over a large rock into a shallow pool.

The first waterfall along the Burgess Falls Track, Fairy Falls drops over a wide ledge before cascading down a wide rock platform into a shallow pool. It was described as “Pleasant and restful” in an advertising poster in March 1916 for the sale of 14 blocks of land in the “Horse Shoe Falls Estate”.

There’s a rough track up to the top of the waterfall, and you can walk (or crawl) behind the flow of water.

Getting to Fairy Falls (Hazelbrook)

A walking track was constructed from Oaklands Road to Horseshoe Falls via Lyrebird Glen in 1903, which is still the route in use today; the track passes Fairy Falls as it descends. The trailhead is about 1:30min drive from Sydney, or 5 minutes from Hazelbrook town centre. It’s about an 0.8km return walk, or 4.5km for the scenic Burgess Falls Track bushwalk which passes these falls.
