Summary: Britannia Falls is one of the three waterfalls near the end of the Valley of the Waters Track in the Blue Mountains.

The small but picturesque Britannia Falls drops over a number of ledges along Valley of the Waters Creek, near the end of the Valley of the Waters track.

The waterfall was named by the Wentworth Falls Trustees in 1898 after Margaret Britannia (Brit) Young, daughter of Captain James Somerville Murray and Elizabeth Lilla Murray – James Murray being one of the first Europeans to explore the area in 1886.

Getting to Britannia Falls

This small waterfall is reached via the Valley of the Waters Track from the Conservation Hut at the end of Fletcher St in Wentworth Falls. Return the same way, continue further along the track to form a longer loop using the Wentworth Pass or Hippocrene Falls and Vera Falls tracks or backtrack slightly to take the National Pass. Wentworth Falls is 95km (1:30min) from Sydney or 8km (10min) from Katoomba.
