Summary: A relatively hard trig station to reach, Want Trig is at the end of Want Spur, whih is off Shark Rock Ridge, in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

The Want Trig is one of the harder ones to reach in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park – along with the Cliff Trig which is on the next peninsula to the north. The trig point is on Want Spur, which is off Shark Rock Ridge. Constructed in 1882, the trig station has a large rock cairn, which is largely intact, but the tall mast has been replaced by a tree branch and the masts are missing.

Getting to Want Trig

The easiest way to reach the trig is by boat to Little Jerusalem Bay, with an off-track scramble up to the ridge. By foot it’s a 12.5km return bushwalk from Berowra Station, with most of the walk on an informal but good trail along Shark Rock Ridge. The last 2.5km is along a very rough pad, and navigation skills are required.
