The Mount Maria trig station is the the highest point on Maria Island, with sweeping views over the island and to the Tasmanian mainland.

Subject to some strong winds, the steel trig point is securely fastened to four rock cairns on the summit of Mount Maria.

There’s a bushwalking track up to the trig station, but allow most of the day for the 16km return walk from Darlington. Some scrambling is required near the top.
