Summary: Accessible from the Chiltern Trail or from Chiltern Road, a short climb gets you to the McCowen Trig Station. There's some filtered views from the trig station.

The McCowen Trig Station is on a ridge above the Chiltern Trail, and reached via a short off-track climb. The concrete plinth is still in good condition, despite being surrounded by bush that’s been recently burnt.

There’s only a glimpse of the ocean from the modern concrete pedestal, but from just below the trig station there are some nice views of Coal and Candle creek to the north-west.
