Summary: The Macintosh Trig (also referred to as the McIntosh Trig) in Ingleside is reached by a short and pleasant bushawalk, with some nice views from a nearby rock platform.

Located in Ingleside on the top of a small hill, the Macintosh Trig trig station is easily reached via a bushwalking track from the end of Walter Road.

The trig itself consists of a concrete pillar; the vanes have been removed and replaced by a modern trig mark, and the nameplate is missing. (The original trig is a metal plug, which is in a iron box next to the concrete post.)

There are no views from the trig station, which is surrounded by scrub, but a short walk to the south brings you to some rock outcrops that offer some nice views of the bush and the distant coastline.

Getting to Macintosh Trig

The trig can be reached from a couple of trailheads along Watter Road: the easiest route is by taking the firetrail from the end of Walter Road.
