Summary: The Hawkesbury Lookout Trig is located at a popular vantage point in Hawkesbury Heights, which offers sweeping views.

A popular lookout along the Hawkesbury Road in the Blue Mountains, the Hawkesbury Lookout Trig is also located on the edge of the fenced cliff. It’s considered one of Hawkesburys five best lookouts.

From the lookout there’s a great view over the Nepean River and Penrith Beach (also informally known as Pondi), which is part of Western Sydney Lakes and is located within a former quarry site. It’s also a popular summer swimming spot.

The lookout also offers a view of the Sydney city skyline in the distance, which is about 60km away to the east.

How to get to the Hawkesbury Lookout Trig

The lookout is located in Hawkesbury Heights, one of the smallest towns within the Blue Mountains which shares the same postcode as Springwood and Winmalee, but received its own name in the mid 1980s. From Richmond turn into Springwood Road at Agnes Banks, and follow the road (which turns into Hawkesbury Road) for 10km; it’s about a 15min drive. The lookout has a carpark next to the road. There are picnic tables, and toilets on the opposiet side of the road.
