Hidden in the scrub not too far from Putty Road is Grassy Hill Trig. It’s on a small hill just above the Grassy Hill Fire Trail, which provides access to a bushwalking trail down to the Colo River (near the junction with Canoe Creek).

The trig station is in relatively good condition, with a concrete plinth and standard trigonometric baseplate.

The trig station is a short, off-track walk up from the Grassy Hill Fire Trail, about 1.6km from Putty Road.
