Summary: Hidden in thick scrub and offering no views, Foody Trig is surrounded by thick scrub close to the Eastern Commission Trail in Dharug NP.

One of the easier-to-reach trig stations in Dharug National Park, the Foody Trig is hidden in thick scrub near the Eastern Commission Trail. The trig station is likely named after James Foody, who owned a 120 acre farm opposite Asterly’s Mill on the banks of the Hawkesbury River near Gunderman Creek.

The rock cairn is in fairly good condition, but the steel vanes have seen better days…

Getting to Foody Trig

The trig is 9km along the Eastern Commission Trail from the trailhead on Oyster Shell Road, and about twenty metres into the scrub on the southern side of the firetrail. (There is no longer any service trail to the trig.)
