Summary: Island Beach is quiet and pristine surf beach in Murramarang National Park, which is only accessible via a short walk.

A very quiet beach in Murramarang National Park, which is reached by a short walk over the headland at the southern end of Pretty Beach. Island Beach is nice spot for a swim, but it’s unpatrolled and normally has rips at both ends.

Island Beach

At the southern end of Island Beach is a tombola, which extends to the low-lying O’Hara Island. At low tide you can walk across the sand to explore the rocky O’Hara Island.

Getting to Island Beach

The beach is an easy walk along the sand from Pretty Beach; if you’re doing the Pretty Beach to Pebbly Beach Loop via Durras Mountain, you’ll pass this beach.
