Summary: Fishermans Beach is the main beach on Great Keppel Island: the ferry services arrive here, and it's next to the island's two resorts. Despite being fairly busy, it is still a very picturesque and inviting beach.

Of the 17 beache on Great Keppel Island, Fishermans Beach is not the one to pick if you want seclusion: the ferry services from the Keppel Bay Marina all disembark their passemgers ar the northern end of the beach. Also at the northern end are the two island resorts, and near the middle of the beach is the Tropical Vibes cafe.

Keppel Dive also operates from Fishermans Beach, and snorkelling, glass-bottom boat and SCUBA diving courses leave from here.

Yet, despite being the busiest beach on Great Keppel Island, you can still find your own slice of sand from which to enjoy the crystal-clean and calm water.

Getting to Putney Beach

Regular ferry services from Keppel Bay Marina at Rosslyn Bay (on the mainland) reach Great Keppel Island in about 30min. The marina is about 15min from Yeppoon, and 45min from Rockhampton airport.
