Summary: The Nepean Narrows Lookout provides a view over the Nepean River, towards the narrow point where it meets Glenbrook Creek. It's reached by a 12-16km bushwalk (mostly on firetrails).

The last lookout along the Rileys Mountain Track bushwalk, the Nepean Narrows Lookout has the least spectacular view of the Nepear River lookouts. However, it’s the most remote of the lookouts and offers more of a sense of seclusion.

From the rocky vantage point at the end of the ridge you can see the narrow section of the Nepean River at the junction of Glenbrook Creek and Glenbrook Gorge, which gives the lookout its name.

You can also see some interesting sandstone rock formations from the Nepean Narrows Lookout.

Getting to Nepean Narrows Lookout

The lookout is reached by a 13-16km return bushwalk (depending on which route you take) along the Rileys Mountain Track, from the end of Fairlight Road at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Along the way you also pass The Rock Lookout and Rileys Mountain Lookout (and Mulgoa Trig).

The carpark and start of the trail is at the end of Fairlight Road, which is a 20km (25min drive) from Penrith, or 17km (20min) from the M4 Penrith motorway exit. The last 3km of the road is unsealed, but suitable for all vehicles.
