Summary: The Kings Canyon Scenic Byway Viewpoint is a turn-out near one of the most scenic sections of the road, with dramatic canyon views.

This small turnout along the Kings Canyon Scenic Byway (Highway 180) offers one of the most dramatic views along the road. It combines a view of the winding highway with the steep canyon walls.

Getting to Kings Canyon Scenic Byway Viewpoint

The lookout is along Highway 180 near the middle of the road, between Grant Grove Village and Roads End.

Note: Part of the Kings Canyon Scenic Byway (from the Hume Lake turn off to Roads End) is closed during the winter, generally from November to April. The actual dates vary due depending on weather conditons and are determined by the State Highway Department, CalTrans.
