Summary: Evelyns Lookout is near the junction of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk and the Amphitheatre Track, and has a great view of Mount Solitary.

First recorded in 1897 (in The Mountaineer) as one of the sites around Katoomba, Evelyns Lookout (originally called Evelyn’s Lookout) is a small, fenced lookout along the Amphitheatre Track, above Bridal Veil Falls.

The lookout offers a great view of Mount Solitary, which is directly ahead in the middle of the Jamison Valley, through a gap between two small bluffs,

It has been documented as having a spectacular view over Bridal Veil Falls, but thick scrub obscure these views.

Getting to Evelyns Lookout

The lookout is reached via the Prince Henry Cliff Walk from Cliff Drive at Katoomba (opposite the old Solitary Restaurant), where it reaches the Amphitheatre Track (this section of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk is also called the Round Walk Track). The start of the walk is about 1.4km from Katoomba station, and 2.9km from Leura.
