On the edge of a small rock platform next to the Hawkesbury Track (Great North Walk) in Berowra is a faint Aboriginal engraving of what appears to be an eel. Half of the figure is now covered with soil and vegetation.
The eel has no “bandings” (horizontal lines across it’s body) which is not uncommon, but it does have an unusual “tail” or “beak”.
Near this figuer are three, fairly deep and wide grinding grooves.
The rock platform offers a great view over Berowra Creek.
