Summary: The Ardamore Standing Stones Outlier is a large megalith which has multiple Bronze Age rock art motifs on its north-west side.

The Ardamore Standing Stone Alignment is a Bronze Age arrangement of three large stones, which are each over two metres in height.

The row of stones is oriented to the setting sun at Winter Solstice; the sun aligns with the stones and appears to roll down the bottom of the valley and into the sea.

About 60 metres northeast of the stone alignment is a huge outlier stone, which is 2.9m in height and 2m wide.

The northwest face of the stone has multiple rock art motifs, including a cup with two circles and two cups with a single ring, and seven plain cup marks.

Getting to the Ardamore Standing Stones

The Ardamore Standing Stones and Outlier are in a fenced field on private property (52.13282, -10.15872), but public access is (currently) allowed. To get there you need to follow an unsealed road which can be quite muddy/boggy.
