The Werribee Gorge Circuit is a popular bushwalk, which offers some great views of the Werribee River and the surrounding gorge, and a few sandy beaches where you can go for a swim.
The Mullet Creek Tunnel (or more accurately, culvert) was built in 1889 as part of the Sydney to Newcastle railway line construction. The historic tunnel is reached via firetrails and a bushwalking track from the Mullet Creek Trail down to the creek.
A short walk that starts near Dargan in the Blue Mountains to Dargans Arch. The large natural sandstone arch is surrounded by a dramatic, canyon-like landscape.
A partly off-track bushwalk in Marramarra National Park, which initially follows the Duckponds Ridge Trail (a firetrail). The last bit down to The Duckpond, a deep pool on Marramarra Creek, has no track.
A fairly demanding, off-track loop bushwalk in Wollemi National Park which follows a section of Tootie Creek. There are sweeping views along the steep descent and ascent, and pristine swimming holes along the creek.
The short Mount Etna Caves Walk finishes at the Bat Cleft, where over 100,000 little bent-winged bats stream out in search of food at sunset. It must be done as a ranger-guided tour from December to mid-February.
An off-track route in Wollemi National Park from the Long Ridge Trail. The loop explores some remote gullies as it follows the base of three cliff-lines.
Two separate, paved bushwalking trails (which start at same place) take you to the rocky Pebble Beach and two viewpoints on Double Head. An informal track goes to the summit of the wee Pebble Beach Peak for more great views,
A loop bushwalk which passes The Lookout and traverses Mount Wyndham, before returning via the Leeke Homestead. Some of the best Great Keppel Island views and a glimpse into the island’s brutal history.
A challenging “hike” through a limestone cave system. The Capricorn Caves Adventurer tour takes you through tight passages, large caverns and to the top of a large rock outcrop for some sweeping views.
