Western Sydney and Blue Mountains is part of the Greater Western Sydney Region, and includes the Local Government Areas of Auburn, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Holroyd, Parramatta, Penrith and The Hills.
This relatively unknown bushwalk from the Bells Line of Road near Mount Banks passes Wongarra Hill as it heads to the edge of the cliffs. The route visits five spectacular lookouts over the Grose Valley, including the unusual Mirrorball Lookout.
Opened in 2025, the Broad Swamp to Birds Rock Trail in the Gardens of Stone passes some spectacular platy pagoda country before crossing Carne Creek to reach Carne View Lookout. From here you can return the same way or continue to Birds Rock Lookout.
This relatively short loop walk in the Gardens of Stone explores the Dicksonia Forest Ravine, an amazing rainforest gully of ancient tree ferns. The exit route along the ridge offers extensive views over the Dingo Creek area.
This version of the Ferris Cave Circuit at Mount Victoria passes the picturesque Ferris Cave, as well as Boronia Point and Hourn Point lookouts and Witches Glen Falls. Combine with the nearby Coxs Cave Circuit for a longer loop hike.
The main feature of the Coxs Cave Circuit is an enormous cave, which is reached by a 20m steel ladder. An optional side-trip goes to Dunns Leap, where a school boy miraculously survived a fall down the cliffs.

Wollangambe Four is a section of the Wollangambe River that can be done as one-day loop bushwalk. It’s characterised by long pools separated by short boulder fields and shallow rapids. Wetsuit and flotation device strongly recommended.

A loop bushwalk in Faulconbridge that follows a creek through Meeks Gully, passing Peggys Pool, Meeks Falls, Turtle Falls and a spectacular Blue Gum Forest.
