There are many waterfalls in every Australian state, although the most spectacular drops are along the eastern seaboard – the Blue Mountains (NSW), Waterfall Way near Dorrigo (NSW), Lamington National Park (QLD) and Cairns region (QLD) are some of the best places to go chasing easily-accessible waterfalls.

Kariong Brook Falls is a beautiful multi-tiered waterfall in Brisbane Water National Park. It plunges into a deep pool and swimming hole.

Lower Gledhill Falls is a spectacular waterfall, where McCarrs Creek is forced through a narrow chute and plunges into a small pool far below.

Best visited after rain, the Tree Fern Gully Falls is in the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden. The Mueller Track passes the top of the waterfall, and an informal pad leads to the base.
