Summary: Walkers Lookout Trig can be easily reached by car, and offers some of the best views over Flinders Island on a clear day.

Located pretty much in the middle of Flinders Island, Walkers Lookout offers sweeping views over the island… when it’s not foggy! The Walkers Lookout Trig point consists of a steel vane on four steel posts, with some interpretative signage on the area.

Near the trig station is a tall telecommunications tower.

On a clear day the views are outstanding, with views in every direction from Pillingers Peak and the Strzelecki ranges to the south, and the Patriarchs to the east. It’s the best lookout accessible by car on Flinders Island.

Getting to Walkers Lookout Trig

The trig point is about a 15 minute drive from Whitemarks, the main settlement on Flinders Island. Flinders Lookout Road (off Memana Road) is unsealed, but suitable for all vehicles, and goes right up the lookout area and trig station.
